What Is House Church home

House church is simply a group of Christians gathering in a home for prayer, worship, fellowship, and bible teaching; rather than a traditional church building. While meeting in a home is not necessarily better or worse than meeting in a larger building, we believe connecting regularly in a more intimate setting with friends, family, and fellow believers has some benefits.

What make small, house churches work well also help individuals grow spiritually. They produce ownership, accountability, spontaneity, involvement, responsibility, and growth in people's lives. This is due to a focus on the basics of prayer, fellowship, learning and evangelism among a smaller group of people.

If a house church is genuinely a church, it should function as one. The Bible teaches that churches have pastor/elders and other leaders. Biblical churches covenant with one another.  All the characteristics of a New Testament church need to be present and functioning in a house church such as baptism, Lord’s Supper, outreach, the preaching of the Word, worship, giving, and more.   House churches do not start in a home with the hopes of moving to a larger rented or permanent facility.  it's not a building that makes the church, it's the biblical function of the body.
